The Castrol Touring Car Championship has two classes: Touring and Super Touring cars. All competing for class and overall honours at the same time. The series has produced many semi pro drivers.
Drivers can and do share cars to reduce costs, particularly in the longer races. The rulebook has guidelines for vehicle classification, with reward weights and tire restrictions to equalize competition. The Canadian Castrol Touring Car Championship cars race exclusively on Toyo's Proxes RA1 tire.
In 2009 the series ran at Mosport International Raceway, Shannonville Motorsport Park, Calabogie Motorsports Park and at the Honda Indy Grand Prix of Toronto, ICAR - Mirabel and Trois-Rivieres.
Watch for the CCTCC series to expand to even more tracks in the future.
