THE CANADIAN RALLY CHAMPIONSHIP - 2011
In 2011 the Canadian Rally Championship enters its 54th year of racing in Canada.
The Canadian Rally Championship rallies are made up of special stages (controlled and monitored roads) and transits (on public roads) where time penalties determine the finishing order. The lowest total time taken on the stage portions of the rally combined with any time penalties on transits determine the winner of the rally. The rallies are organized by member clubs in the area where they take place. The Canadian Rally Championship is currently made up of six events.
The teams are made up of a driver and a co-driver and they compete in one of several vehicle classes. (Open- usually made up of 4WD, turbo vehicles; Group 2- an open class for normally aspirated 2WD vehicles ; Group N- an FIA world class for production vehicles; and Production Class - where vehicles are divided into 4 sub classes (P1, P2, P3 and P4) based on adjusted displacement limits and are allowed modifications only to improve reliability and safety.

L'ESTAGE AND RICHARD WIN RALLYE BAIE DES CHALEURS
Antoine L'Estage and Nathalie Richard came back to take a commanding lead of the Rallye Baie Des Chaleurs after differential problems almost ended their rally on Friday night. More trouble struck late on Saturday that cut the teams lead to a much smaller margin than they would have liked.
"I pushed hard on the second stage, and after Pat had problems, we took a good lead," said L'Estage. "The car isn't quite perfect, but it's going well."
"The crew are the ones who made us win this event," said L'Estage. "On Friday they had to rebuild the differentials, and then today they replaced the transmission in record time - just 40 minutes. There's no way we'd be here without their work."

ROUND 2 - ROCKY MOUNTAIN RALLY
CALGARY, ALBERTA, MAY 26 - 27, 2011
The Rocky Mountain Rally gives the competitors nearly 190 Km of competitive distance in just over 12 hours.
In the words of the organizers, "Rocky is not the oldest of the Canadian Rally Championship events... Rocky cannot boast the highest entries... Rocky does not lure spectators numbering in the thousands and tens of thousands to the forest stages... But Rocky is a hardy event with the ability to survive and even flourish in adversity; an event providing, and demanding, technical excellence... and an event that has truly won her crown as a National Championship Rally."
L'ESTAGE AND RICHARD WIN ROCKY MOUNTAIN RALLY
Antoine L'estage and Nathalie Richard took the Rocky Mountain Rally for their 2nd win of the season. The race was run in a snowy in a heavy, slushy mess that greatly challenged the teams.
"Being first on the road is really bad today," said L'Estage. "In the time it takes to turn around at the end of the stage the road is completely covered over with snow again."
"It's difficult, it's about surviving," said Richard during what was to be the only service of the rally. "We've got AO31 mud tires, which seem to be the right tire for the job."

ROUND 1 - RALLYE PERCE-NEIGE MANIWAKI
MANIWAKI, QUEBEC, FEB 5 - 6, 2011
The Perce Neige Maniwaki rally is the only winter event in the Championship. This rally, 46 years old, has always been very popular with the competitors. The long snowy roads used over the years have helped the event develop a great reputation with in the Canadian Rally Championship. Thus accessibility for the spectators has always been a little difficult. Often ran on forestry roads far from any major center, a fair amount of courage was required to overcome the snow and cold temperatures. The Perce-Neige, will not shy away from its usual forestry roads that have made its reputation, nevertheless it will adopt a format accessible to spectators, staying closer to Maniwaki.

"After last year, when we didn't finish here, I really wanted to just remember the championship and focus on a good result here. To win is of course the best possible result, said Antoine L'estage."
